One thing that is very clear about living at AV8 in Little Italy, San Diego, is that you live in an incredibly walkable community. In fact, it has a walking score of 97! That includes a small walk to your waterfront community to being just a few steps away from Ballast Point Brewing Co. Additionally, you are only a few feet away from some fantastic bakeries. Seeing as how Thanksgiving is around the corner, we have dedicated this blog post to the top two best bakeries in town.
Thanksgiving treats from Extraordinary Desserts
First up is Extraordinary Desserts at 1430 Union St. When you stop by, the first thing you will notice is the presentation, particularly when you choose to dine in. Take for instance their mini coconut cream pies and salted caramel chocolate tarts. Other magnificent treats they bake up that would work perfectly for Thanksgiving is their banana cream pie and chocolate croissant bread pudding. As far as their Thanksgiving specials are concerned, they have plenty. Their holiday dishes are available to order from November 20th to November 22nd. And, there is plenty to choose from. For instance, there’s the Extraordinary Pumpkin Cheesecake and the Flourless Aloha Pumpkin Pie. They also have a Valrhona Chocolate Pecan Pie, and their Salted Caramel Butterscotch Pecan Cake.
Thanksgiving treats from Frost Me Cafe and Bakery
Finally, there is Frost Me Cafe and Bakery on 555 W Date St. Along with their wonderful breakfast and brunch menu, they have quite a selection of baked goods. We cannot get enough of their cupcake menu. In particular, their blueberry hazelnut and apple oats molasses. Also, be sure to take advantage of dining at their restaurant. Open from 6 AM to 10 PM, their grilled cheese is incredible and so is their charcuterie plate.
Whether you use this list to grab yourself that morning muffin, to purchasing your Thanksgiving dessert for Friendsgiving, there is no shortage of bakeries near AV8. Enjoy!Back To Main
