November 30th, 2018

The holidays have officially begun! Now that Thanksgiving has passed, it is time to celebrate Hanukkah. Lucky for everyone at AV8, there are tons of ways to enjoy the festival of lights this year in San Diego.

Hanukkah Menorah Lighting

When it comes to Chanukah, it is important to bring in the first night with a grand menorah lighting. This year, you can expect a fantastic one over at Liberty Station. This menorah lighting will be hosted in the Central Promenade on Monday, December 3rd. It will go from 5 PM to 9 PM and will include tons of live entertainment and ice skating. Tickets for this event are $15 for adults and $13 for children.

Annual Hanukkah Party

Then there is the Annual Hanukkah Party hosted at the Lawrence Family Jewish Community Center. Tickets to this event range from $10 to $15. While there you can expect a catered buffet, latkes included, as well as tons of live entertainment. This celebration is happening on Sunday, December 16th but be sure to RSVP before December 3rd.

Annual Hanukkah Happening

There is also the 35th Annual Hanukkah Happening. On Sunday, December 2nd join in on the fun with a community-wide holiday extravaganza including games, crafts, prizes, an arcade, a silent auction and more! Perfect for the entire family, tickets for this event go for only $3 per person from 11 AM to 2 PM.

A Trip to a nearby Deli

With a total of eight days, it is essential to celebrate at least one night at a nearby deli. Seeing as how you live in Little Italy, you have a number of delis nearby. Most of them may be Italian delis but nonetheless, you can’t go wrong with a Chanukah dinner at Carnivore Sandwich, Mona Lisa Italian Foods, or Mimmo’s Italian Village.

From trips to the deli to lighting menorahs, Chanukah this year is sure to be wonderful. L’chaim!
