It should come as no surprise that living at AV8 means living close to the best Italian food in the city. However, with so many options, it can be hard to choose where to dine and what to order. That is where this blog post comes in. So dive on in and discover our favorite Italian restaurants serving you the best pasta in all of San Diego.
First up is Bencotto in our very own Little Italy. When you dine here you’re getting pasta. The unique part about Bencotto is that you design your own bowl. Just take your pick of sauce and pasta and bon appetit! With so many options, we suggest ordering the Italian sausage with tomato sauce with a thick noodle. Bencotto’s sleek industrial design with floor-to-ceiling windows makes for both a great dinner and lunch spot.
Still looking for a delicious bowl of carbs? Then dine at the brother restaurant to Bencotto, Monello. A bit more of a casual vibe, Monello features fantastic pizza along with seafood. While their menu is quite large and filled with a variety of Italian dishes, if you are looking for pizza, this is the spot. Also, Monello is one of the few Italian restaurants with a dedicated brunch menu. If you do decide to get pasta here, we highly suggest the spaghetti with ragu.
This list cannot go on without mentioning Civico 1845. Is anyone interested in a menu with great pasta and even better seafood? Then Civico 1845 is the spot for you. Take for instance their scallops or Scialatelli Civico with Caledonian prawns and cherry tomatoes. Also, Civico 1845 has tons of vegan options.
Up next we have RoVino where you will find the best rotisserie. The star dish on their menu has to be their pollo arrosto. Served on a wooden cutting board with garlic and herbs, this iconic dish pairs perfectly with any one of their wines. Speaking of, their wine list features a variety of wines from across Italy.
Finally, we have additional, honorable mentions:
