international beer day

August 7th, 2018

Hello everyone and welcome to a very important blog post. For those of you who are unaware, today is International Beer Day. As we have mentioned before, the tastiest of beers is synonymous with Little Italy. With all that in mind, what better way to celebrate International Beer Day than with some of the top breweries near AV8.

Beer from Green Flash Brewing

International Beer Day

First up we have Green Flash Brewing on 6550 Mira Mesa Blvd. Independently owned by Mike and Lisa Hinkley, Green Flash serves up some creative flavors such as their Passion Fruit Kicker. We also highly suggest getting any of their IPA’s. Also be sure to add some food to the table with their truffle Mac and Cheese. Affordable with a laid back vibe, Green Flash will be open today from 3PM to 9PM. HAPPY DRINKING!

Beer from Mikkeller Brewing

International Beer Day

Up next is Mikkeller Brewing on 9368 Cabot Drive. Offering up to 19 craft beers and two rotating casks, there is no shortage of diverse flavors here. That said, we advise you to try their Beer Geek Breakfast Stout. Changing what’s on tap by the day, you are also in for a surprise when you walk outside of the neo mint painted walls to find a patio area with a cornhole set up and a basketball hoop. Open from 12PM to 9PM daily, Uber on over here and enjoy a brew with a game of basketball.

Beer from Mission Brewery

International Beer Day

Last up is Mission Brewery. Located on 1441 L Street, Mission Brewery has decor like no other. With all the original brick intact their brewhouse overlooks the tasting room which means you are in the middle of all the action. Best of all, their San Diego brewery is the only location where their beer is brewed, bottled, canned, and kegged on-site! However, if you do not want to stray too far away from AV8 than you can always hit up Bolt Brewery or Ballast Point.

To be honest, the beer in San Diego is so divine that no one ever needs a reason to enjoy or celebrate it. However, just for today, enjoy your happy hour a little harder with a glass or four of whatever beer you choose. CHEERS!
