Hello neighbors! While it may be winter here in San Diego, that does not mean we cannot take a trip to the beach. In particular, a trip to some of the best restaurants along the water in all of California.

Beach Restaurant #1: C Level Lounge

Located at Harbor Island Drive is our first restaurant, C Level Lounge. While each restaurant on this list has an incredible view, C Level has the best view of San Diego’s skyline. As far as the menu is concerned, they have some great sandwiches. Our favorite would have to be the Lobster and Fontina BLT sandwich. We also highly suggest pairing it with the Lobster Bisque. Another great dish on their menu is the ahi tuna stack, perfect as an appetizer. If you plan on dining for lunch, feel free to dress more casual. However, dinners call for a more posh attire. That said, those looking for a great date night right on the water, C Level Lounge is the restaurant for you.

Beach Restaurant #2: Sally’s Fish House & Bar

Up next is Sally’s Fish House and Bar. One thing we love about Sally’s is the seafood menu. If you dine with a group of friends, know that you have the option of ordering sushi as well as a grilled swordfish or maple roasted duck. Speaking of sushi, they have an incredible tuna poké bowl. As far as appetizers are concerned, their grilled octopus is delicious.

Beach Restaurant #3: Waterfront Bar and Grill

For those who do not know, one luxury about living at AV8 is that you are only a walk away from the waterfront. Additionally, you are close to San Diego’s oldest tavern and the next restaurant on our list, the Waterfront Bar and Grill. It is worth noting that the Waterfront Bar and Grill does not sit along the water. However, it is only a few blocks away, making for the perfect after-dinner walk. Another thing we love about Waterfront are the locals that visit and their happy hour. Of all the restaurants on this list, Waterfront is the most casual and makes for a perfect spot to grab a beer and watch the game. Best of all, they have incredible hours, operating from 6 AM to 2 AM.

Beach Restaurant #4: Water Grill San Diego

Then we have Water Grill San Diego in the Gaslamp Village. Again, this spot is not right along the water but it is close to it. Additionally, it is located in one of the most social and vibrant places in all of San Diego. One thing we love about Water Grill is their raw bar. Here you can order all sorts of shellfish either individually or by the dozen. Their chilled shellfish menu is delicious as well. Our favorite would have to be the jumbo wild Florida stone crab claws. This part of the menu is quite expensive but totally worth it.

Beach Restaurant #5: Bluewater Boathouse Seafood Grill

Last up is our favorite spot along the water in Coronado, Bluewater Boathouse Seafood Grill. Like C Level Lounge, this is an incredible date night spot as you are literally dining on the water. One of their most popular dishes is the New England Clam Chowder that will have you coming back for more. They also have a delectable dessert menu. In particular, their in-house made key lime pie.

Seafood Markets

In addition to the restaurants along the water, there are a number of great seafood markets nearby:

  1. Tuna Harbor Dockside Market at 598 Harbor Lane
  2. The Fish Market at 750 N. Harbor Drive
  3. Blue Water Seafood Market & Grill at 3667 India Street.

There are so many spots to choose from and no matter which spot you visit, it gives you the perfect opportunity to experience the waterfront and San Diego beaches from a different perspective. Happy dining!
