There are a number of iconic San Diego landmarks near AV8. Some of them include the Marston House Museum, Santa Fe Depot, and Petco Park. And to all the AV8 couples out there, there is a landmark in San Diego that would make for the perfect date night. It is known as Tom Ham’s Lighthouse.
When founder Tom Ham came to San Diego in the ‘50’s he rescued an old restaurant called Bali Hai on Shelter Island. It was eventually changed to Tom Ham’s Lighthouse in 1971. And fun fact, an actual functioning lighthouse called Beacon #9 was incorporated into the design. In addition to the historic lighthouse, Tom Ham’s is famous for its eye-catching vistas of the San Diego Bay, the Coronado Bridge, plus the SD skyline.
Now for the dining experience. It is worth mentioning that they serve brunch, lunch, and dinner. All of which have their own, particular menu. The restaurant operates from 11:30 AM to 9 PM with a price range of $31 to $60. As far as their menu is concerned, you cannot visit without trying their lobster claws. Their crab legs are also undeniable as are their waffles. If you choose to go for dinner, be sure to indulge in their dessert table. We highly suggest trying out their dessert drinks or the cheesecake with bacon bourbon caramel. Also, do know that they open early on Sundays at 9:30 for that Sunday morning mimosa.
Whether you take a visit with some friends for a Sunday mimosa or are celebrating an anniversary, the unparalleled views at Tom Ham’s Lighthouse will make for a day (or night) you will never forget. Also, be sure to take advantage of our specials this month. Currently, we are offering $2,000 for resident referrals that move within December.
