June 27th, 2018
As July approaches, we have so much to look forward to at AV8. That includes warm weather, clear skies, and the biggest holiday of the Summer. That’s right, Independence Day, and you best believe that there tons of fun 4th of July events happening in the San Diego area.
The Big Bay Boom Firework Show
It is tradition to celebrate the 4th of July with fireworks. Lucky for you, one of the most iconic firework shows happens in San Diego. Known as the “Big Bay Boom,” the best part about this show is that it is so massive you can see it from multiple places within San Diego. Starting just after 9 PM, fireworks are launched from four different barges throughout the North Bay. Best of all, music is paired along with the show, which can be heard on MAX FM 105.7 and THE MIGHTY 1090 AM.
In regards to where you can view the show from, you have tons of options. Want a more intimate spot to enjoy the show? Then head on over to Shelter Island. There is also a great, unique view from the Coronado Ferry Landing. Other popular viewing spots are Harbor Island, Seaport Village, and the Marina District. No matter what area of San Diego you choose, grab your picnic baskets, some lounge chairs and prepare yourself for a spectacular, one-of-a-kind firework show.
San Diego Independence Day Parades
There are tons of parades and fairs happening as well. One of the best fairs to attend is the San Diego County Fair. All sorts of entertainment happens throughout the day and the night ends with a wonderful firework show. Other parades include Oceanside and Rancho Santa Fe. Each happening during the day, you can enjoy live music and beautiful floats from all of them. Also, for all you families out there, LEGOLAND has their annual Red, White, and Boom event. This celebration includes a firework display and of course all the fun rides within the park.
From big parades to iconic fireworks shows, San Diego is the best spot to celebrate our Independence. Lucky for all you AV8 residents, these festivities are only a few minutes away from Little Italy. So get out your picnic baskets and get ready to celebrate Independence Day.
