Welcome back neighbors to another food blog. We already know that AV8’s waterfront community allows us to dine at some of the greatest seafood restaurants in San Diego. Up until now, however, we have yet to reveal the best places to grab sushi.

Harney Sushi

Harney Sushi

First up is Harney Sushi. Located in Old Town on 3994 Harney Street, Harney Sushi is the only spot in San Diego with a sake bar. In addition to their awarding winning sake bar, they have a very eclectic menu. For instance, you can get sweet potato frites as well as monkey brains.

Pokirrito

Pokirrito

One of our favorite fast-casual dining experiences would have to be poke. Lucky for everyone at AV8, we have Pokirrito. Founded by Chef Junya Watanabe, this menu has a variety of options. While here you can order one of their set poke bowls or customize your own. Unlike any other poke restaurant, you can also order their signature sushi burritos. Also, be sure to grab one of their craft ice teas or cold Japanese brews.

Cloak and Petal

Cloak and Petal

For anyone looking for a luxurious sushi dinner then head on over to Cloak and Petal. The newest restaurant in Little Italy, the decor at Cloak and Petal is like no other. Reminiscent of an abandoned Tokyo subway, you can sit beneath draping vines of Cherry Blossoms. This formal dining space is also decorated with incredible graffiti art near every table. Additionally, you can be sure that their menu is just as divine as the decor. Do note however that Cloak and Petal is difficult to get into so make your reservations a few days in advance.

Whether you are craving oysters or sashimi, there is no shortage of delicious fish dishes in Little Italy. Now, go make your reservations and prepare yourself for a remarkable dining experience.
